About Me

Crystal Payne

I am the director/owner of Creation Station Learning Center- a home daycare with a center environment. I created this center with the intention to give parents an alternative to the public school environment. I will use several homeschool curriculums to help children achieve a diverse education, as well as give them plenty of time to create and have fun. I focus on providing quality education for children ages 2 through 5 years of age. I enjoy working with the Abeka Curriculum to teach handwriting, phonics, reading, math, social studies, science, and manners (subjects are age dependent and not used for every age group). However, I love being able to create my own schedule to ensure that children have plenty of time to create and explore through art and music. I believe it is super important to allow children to try new things and learn not just through traditional curriculum, but through playing and creating!

I grew up in a large family in the mid west. Being the oldest child of 14 siblings, childcare has always been a part of my life. I graduated from the Heartland Christian Academy of Home School with my high school diploma. At the age of 20 I joined the Air Force and was given the opportunity to travel and explore several states and countries. While raising two children of my own, now teenagers, I was able to graduate College with my Associates in Child Development with a major in Preschool Education and Administration. I have taught preschool in both the private and public sectors. After teaching in the Preschool setting for 7 years I decided to take a break and fill an elementary art and music position in the Alamogordo Public Schools in New Mexico. While working for the public schools, I also worked for Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest working with girls ages 5-18. This gave me an opportunity to create troops and programs for the girls to learn to become young leaders within their community. Through my experience with the public schools and parents with children not old enough to join clubs or school programs that I realized children do not get enough time to explore and create. The lack of time that children get to actually spend exploring and creating in a public school classroom has inspired me to begin teaching outside the public setting and open a learning center from the comfort of my home. I was remarried in June 2018 and moved to El Paso, TX. I look forward to meeting your families and being able to watch your children learn and grow while in my care.

My Goal

My goal is to cultivate a community of families and teachers working together to provide a high quality, safe, stimulating and positive environment that enhances and fosters the physical, emotional, cognitive, creative and social development of individual children, through structured and play-based learning and discovery. The mission will be implemented by practicing an emergent curriculum; that inspires children to learn through active engagement and repetition.
